marvellous mini moderns
Finally got to the mini moderns REMIX pop-up interiors shop at London’s South Bank. I’d already missed the opening, the talks and (most disastrously) the cocktail evening so had to get there before it closed this weekend.
mm has taken over the Southbank centre’s shop on Festival Terrace and filled it with lovely mid-century inspired wares, including pieces from the new Hinterland interiors range. I love the Feather design by Matt Sewell
Matt creates beautiful images of birds. Some prints are on sale in the pop-up shop
Also on show were some classic mid century furniture pieces upholstered by Galapagos Here’s a lovely ercol studio couch in mini modern Pavilion linen fabric
Lovely lampshades in the window
mm is probably best known for its quirky wallpapers
A paint range in these fetching mid century tones is fairly new. Apparently up to 90% of the content is recycled paint!
I also took the time to leaf through Dominic Bradbury’s new tome for Thames & Hudson Mid Century Complete As the name suggests, it’s pretty comprehensive and contains enough modernist porn to keep the most dedicated aficionado happy for some time
The pop-up shop is open until Tuesday 30th September, 10am to 9pm.
