Exploring luxury interior design trends at Decorex

September 24, 2014

Decorex 2014 takes place at Sion Park, south west London from 21st to 24th September. It showcases trends from some of the world’s finest high-end interior design brands. Like the other events under the London Design Festival umbrella, there is plenty to inspire and the level of craftsmanship is very impressive.

A series of sets themed around Hogarth’s The Rakes Progress contained these lovely mademoiselles at the entrance.

This was a collaboration between Kit Kemp and de Gournay

The 18th century theme continued with these tapestry prints by Zardi & Zardi. However, the production is distinctly 21st century, being digitally printed on Belgian linens. Beautifully coloured, they would make a fantastic feature wall.

I also loved these beautiful textiles hand woven in Guatemala by A Rum Fellow

Cabinets of curiosities were a bit of a theme. This one was courtesy of French luxury taps manufacturer, SA Volevatch to exhibit the new “Birds of Paradise’ collection.

Some of their vintage taps were pretty amazing too

Similarly restrained, Objet de Curiosité featured an emu among many beautiful and extraordinary things

You can rely on Timororous Beasties to impress. I love the new red on vermillion colour way of Devils Damask flock wallpaper. We used the black on carbon version in our hallway in Blackheath.

I like this wee beastie too, courtesy of Nicholas Haslam

I love his Scrapwood range – recycled wood with a highly lacquered finish.

Charlotte James furniture provided some lovely pops of bright colour. I love this lamp

This Guadalupe daybed by Bethan Laura Wood in collaboration with Laura Lees for Future Heritage was another highlight

The show celebrated craftsmanship with a number of demonstrations, including hand weaving carpet for FRONT London

Little Greene had a great stand. In fact, it has just been awarded Best in Show. I love this pink rose ceiling

How cute are these miniature baths? You could imagine using one to bathe your pet mouse!

Mind you, the full-size version by William Holland is pretty special too
